Our Eventing Experiences!

So, I haven't made a post in a while as Ragan and I have been so busy eventing. We just started this year, and as it is my first time, it is also Ragan's. She is a natural though! Our first Real event was at Canterdown, on June 10th I believe, and we placed 4th overall! She was such a good girl off property fitting in like one of the old eventing champs. My whole barn did extremely well at this event. Ragan and I went clear in all of our jumping rounds and finished on our dressage score. The plan then was to get her comfortable with bending and getting round off property. We did Pre-Entry at this event. Then we decided why not go 1 step further, and continue with out fabulous eventing adventures while we can :) So next we went to Equus 3D on the 29th (or sometime around then) Our dressage was less than ideal as I forgot the test :/ but of course Ragan picked up the slack for our team and continued doing what she does best, forgetting we even messed up, and calmly carrying on. We moved onto the stadium which was such a blast! We went clear :) Then we moved onto the fun stuff...Cross country!!! She was a doll and we went 100% clear in this as well. Which meant we ended up placing 2nd in our entire division!!! Love her! The plan was still to get her even more comfortable off property in the dressage ring. Yesterday I went to my first Entry level event at Lane's End, and they were the nicest staff on the block!! They were so kind and willing to help, it was lovely. We started with the dressage and had a good 40 minute warm up just like my coach recommended, then when it was our time to do the test she was bending, collecting, listening to my legs the whole 9 yards!!! So I guess you could say, we were excited to move onto the jumping. We were instructed to wear our X-Country clothes to the stadium as there was little time in between. So we plopped on the pink after walking the course and began to warm up..in the pouring rain. It eventually stopped and we proceeded to warm up, she was fantastic, no knocked rails, no refusals, and we walked into the stadium ring with confidence! We went clear with no time faults and no refusals or knocked rails. Then right after ran off to do our cross country...Don't ya just love the rush of eventing? They blew the whistle and we were off! Flying over the first 5 jumps then posing over the 6th for the photographer, moving onto 7,8,9,10,11, and going through the (optional) Water to get to number 12 with no problems at all! We flew over 13,14,15, and 16 like that's what we were meant to do, galloping through the finish line with a clear round and no time faults! We ended up getting 4th in our division and are now excited to be going to Glen Oro on the 23rd of September :) I could not be more proud of this horse! Pictures to come once they download <3
